BITTCOIN-JO Virtual Workshop Conducted by University of L'Aquila (UNIVAQ), Italy



AMMAN - The Arab Society for Intellectual Property (ASIP) has recently participated in the virtual workshop conducted by the University of L'Aquila (UNIVAQ), Italy.
To cope with the current exceptional situation imposed by COVID-19, the BITTCOIN-JO project virtually conducted a previously scheduled workshop at the University headquarters in Italy. More than 50 participants representing all partners took part in the two-day event held remotely.
In the first day, UNIVAQ presented the role of Technology Transfer Office (TTO) and its TTO experiences, where best practices were demonstrated and discussed; the second session concentrated on spinoffs at UNIVAQ, including a discussion about their rules, procedures and characteristics.
In the second day, a legal framework comparison regarding patenting between Italy and Jordan was discussed with participants. The last session of the day was about intellectual property management at UNIVAQ, including rules, procedures and characteristics. The workshop concluded with examples of patents portfolio management.
