Barakat to Convert 'Blankets Become Jackets' to Audio Version


AMMAN - March 28, 2016 - HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, chairman of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization (TAG-Org) received in his office Ms. Rawan Barakat, CEO and Co-founder of Raneen Organization in order to explore collaboration opportunities between the two entities. Raneen Organization works on building integrated educational systems that basically focus on improving effective listening skills of children in light of the visual media domination which may lead to weakening children's communication skills. Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh welcomed Ms. Barakat, expressing his admiration and pride in her achievements as one of the creative blind girls who encountered challenges and troubles and achieved her aspirations. Barakat, also, directed her organization to provide audio learning materials even though the targeted people are able to see. Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh emphasized that all opportunities are available to Barakat to work at her discretion, declaring his confidence in Barakat and her works. Meanwhile, Barakat expressed her desire to convert "Blankets Become Jackets" by Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh to audio version in standard Arabic to be provided to children with particular attention to how suffering turn out to be a blessing, especially in his childhood. She stated the Raneen Organization focuses on exploiting audio, visual and performance arts in educational curriculum, developing potentials of children and care providers equally in a view to creating a conscious generation who have the necessary skills in life, especially: communication skills, critical thinking and self-esteem. "We will distribute the audio version of Blankets Become Jackets to all audio libraries through (audio library for each school project) and provide blind people with audio stories for free," Barakat Added. Raneen Organization was granted a number of awards, including: The King Abdullah II Award for Youth Innovation and Achievement (KAAYIA) in 2009, Synergos Arab World Social Innovator Award in 2011, Al Hussein for Distinguished Contributions in 2015 and many others.
